Divergent
 by Veronica Roth
  DIVERGENT -- CHAPTER 22
Tris wakes up in a bedroom. She is lying in pain, while Four is off in a bathroom washing off blood from his injured knuckles.

Four comes to Tris’ side and explains how he came from the Control Room after hearing screams. He then beat up Drew, as Al and Peter ran off. Drew is now in the infirmary in pretty bad shape.

Tris rejects Four’s offer of reporting the scene. Tris doesn’t want to seem weak or cowardly.

Out of frustration and anger, Tris begins to cry and Four puts his hand at her face.

Four suggests that she begin to show some vulnerability, even if she fakes it, so that her friends continue to defend her. If she doesn’t seem vulnerable, he knows that her other friends may turn their backs on her just like Al did.

Four tells Tris to act normal tomorrow, as if nothing happened. Tris admits that she cannot do so because she feels as if they almost touched her in a wrong way.

Fuming, Four tells Tris that he must do what is best for her even if she objects to it. Tris knows that Four is right.
He then tells Tris that she must destroy these three boys if she ever has the chance.
