Katniss makes it to Boggs and he has her go find his Holo. She finds it and brings it back to him. He speaks commands at the Holo which gives Katniss new ownership over it. The Holo even scans Katniss’ face to record her facial fingerprint.

Jackson, the second in command, tries to use a communicator to reach for medics. Katniss knows, however, that Boggs is facing the end of his life.

Soon, it’s not only Boggs who fears for his life. Mysterious, deadly black goo shoots from the ground, blocking buildings, and making a retreat impossible.

Gale and Leeg 1 use their guns to shoot the ground in front of them to make sure that they can push towards the end of the block. Meanwhile, Peeta finds his way to Katniss and he tackles her. He tries to crush her head with the butt of this gun, but she’s saved by Mitchell. Mitchell, unfortunately, is overpowered by Peeta and he’s forced into a Pod that entraps him in a barbed net.

Soon enough, Gale and Leeg 1 are able to force open a door to a building. The group makes it into an apartment where they restrain Peeta in a closet, and then attempt to use towels to block out the incoming fumes from the goo outside.

Mitchell passes away from his injuries. Boggs also passes away, but not without telling Katniss to be weary of who she trusts, to continue with her plan, and to kill Peeta. She questions his words, but it’s too late for him to respond.

Jackson demands the Holo from Katniss. The Holo, however, now only responds to Katniss. Katniss wonders about Boggs’ intentions and she wonders why Boggs put so much trust into her. He didn’t seem to have the same trust with Jackson.

Jackson demands that Katniss gives her control over the Holo. Katniss refuses and she quickly makes up a story on how she was given control of the Holo so that she can fulfill her mission of assassinating President Snow.

Jackson doesn’t believe Katniss’ story until Cressida speaks up and confirms that Plutarch also agreed on the secret mission. This way, the camera crew can record the assassination with the aim of putting an immediate end to the fighting.

Jackson then questions the presence of Peeta. She doesn’t know why Peeta would be put in the squad if he’s so dead set on killing Katniss. Cressida explains that Peeta might know the way to Snow’s home. It seems that Peeta had been interviewed there a few times.

The group gets ready to leave the safety of the apartment. Peeta has passed out in the closet and he is carried along. Katniss leads the way, but not without the help of Jackson who knows how to use the Holo’s map.
Katniss leads the group through the front entrance. Katniss knows that new pods probably await them in the back entrance. She gives her squad a chance to back out if they choose, but they decline.

The group pushes forward to find the aftermath of the tidal wave of black goo. It has coated buildings and it has triggered pods.

Eventually, as the sun goes down, it’s decided that they better find shelter for the night. Katniss chooses an apartment building where they shut themselves off.

Just when Katniss is trying to think things through, a television in the apartment goes off with a special report that features Squad 451. Cameras that lined the street caught all the occurrences on tape. Eventually, the black goo cuts off the cameras. The Capitol assumed that the squad remained in the apartment, so Peacekeepers demolished the whole building. Now, the Capitol is celebrating the death of Katniss.
